PCD HOLLOW TOOLS
Hollow Tool works like a plunge form tool. Halcyon developed this type of tool for the hard disk drive application. Our PCD hollow tool has proved to increase efficiency in machining HDD base plate hubs. Conventional machining may involve multiple standard tools to cut complicated profiles on port holes. Complicated part geometries can be combined into a single tool to achieve the best cycle time, as well as concentricity between each step.
